As a software engineer on our team, you have the chance to provide research and technical support to senior-level DoD representatives on software system safety implementation and oversight for DoD weapon system acquisition programs. Work in a dynamic team environment of client and contract staff to leverage software experience in accomplishing software system safety tasks, typically as part of a larger system safety effort. Under direction of a senior software system safety expert, help execute comprehensive software system safety programs or individual tasks such as analysis of requirements, architecture, design, and code, and conduct in-depth safety-specific testing. Analyze data, develop written deliverables, and assist with presentation of results. Assist with review of client software system safety documents to verify compliance with requirements, policy, and guidance documents and document adequacy. Focus on completing client work in accordance with established plans and quality standards.

You Have:
1+ years of experience in a professional work environment, including developing and debugging multi-threaded or real-time embedded software
Knowledge of operating systems and compiler technology
Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with software engineering and safety, including tools and methods for software requirements, design, safety analysis, testing, and maintenance of software
Experience with computer science and engineering, software safety, software contribution to system risk, [including Software Criticality determination and Level of Rigor application
Experience with the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH) and JSSSEH Implementation Guide
Experience in a software development environment and using tools, including Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, or Rational Software
Experience with FPGAs, PLDs, and firmware development
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,800.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
