Linux System Administrator, Senior

We’re looking for a systems administrator with a solid background in Red Hat Linux systems engineering and administration to help us create solutions for Navy systems that will stand up to even the most advanced Cyber threats.

As a systems administrator on our project, you’ll assist with the ongoing design, maintenance, and technical support for Navy production networks. You’ll work with in-house teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions while also ensuring that the current infrastructure is functional and available. You’ll help customers overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. Your experience and communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning. You’ll be able to broaden your skillset into areas like Linux administration in a virtual environment and Cloud-based security while building peace of mind in a critical infrastructure.

You Have:

-5+ years of experience as a Red Hat Linux system administrator working with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 6 or RHEL 7 platforms

-5+ years of experience with Command Line Interface (CLI), Secure Shell (SSH), user account management, configuring physical and logical partitions, and installing, configuring, and deploying Linux systems

-Ability to install, configure, and deploy Linux systems in accordance with DoD and client requirements on a production network

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree or 6+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux system administration in lieu of a degree

-DoD Directive 8570 Certifications, including IAT I/II and OS Certification

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with the administration of Macintosh server and workstations

-Experience with Apache Web server administration

-Knowledge of Linux DNS, Solaris, ESX, and ESXi

-Knowledge of other UNIX-based systems

-Knowledge of DoD STIG requirements preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
