Performance Testing Manager

The Opportunity:

When a user tries a new technical solution, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful IT systems development—and that means rigorous performance testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test IT solutions, and work with a team of engineers and architects to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

We are seeking an experienced Performance Testing Engineer who will lead a team of performance engineers and manage and provide oversight for day-to-day tasks and delivery. The team actively conducts a performance analysis of systems and release activities to identify additional test needs for the client. This role will involve coordinating across multiple testing events that involve multiple vendors such as ADOs to facilitate testing activities. You will be leading and integrating testing coordination across Marketplace systems. This involves the review and identification of functional capabilities of a release and the test coverage required such as identification of network, compute, and storage performance requirements.

You Have: 

  • 5+ years of experience with software engineering, quality assurance, site reliability engineering, or performance engineering experience
  • Experience supporting Marketplace systems and environment management and configuration
  • Experience implementing a comprehensive technical and performance testing background, including troubleshooting performance testing observations and issues, and with tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace, AWS Cloudwatch, and Prometheus
  • Experience working in systems, tracking, and coordinating multiple efforts at any given time for performance testing
  • Experience in a lead role and with leading a team
  • Experience working in an Agile and dynamic environment, and with the use of Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Ability to understand complex applications and how to optimize performance in a cloud computing environment to provide recommendations to outside vendors such as ADOs, during troubleshooting activities
  • Ability to identify and provide recommendations to remediate performance bottlenecks, lead testing calls with client and ADOs, and clearly communicate how performance efforts impact teams across the Marketplace
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to assist in capacity planning projections and performance testing objectives
  • Ability to assist in review of data analytics projections
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and calls with a large and diverse audience
  • Ability to lead a team of performance engineers, manage and provide oversight over day-to-day tasks, and meet regularly with the team to discuss current and upcoming work

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
