That’s why we need you, a financial analyst who can navigate the requirements, policies, and regulations that govern Department of Defense (DoD) funding, to make sure our client can make the most impact.
The Financial and Defense Budget Analyst will be responsible for supporting the defense client with analyzing and interpreting financial information to support decision-making and budget planning processes, including assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies, assisting with preparing and analyzing budgets, and monitoring the execution of funds. You will use your demonstrated financial experience to develop innovative strategies to solve complex problems, and assist with a broad range of financial activities such as managing Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes, and ongoing financial and annual audit analysis, participating in review meetings and briefings, developing plans and briefs, preparing and coordinating the dissemination of documents and materials related to monthly reporting, entering commitment and obligating funding documents, monitoring the execution of appropriated funds, performing research, and helping reduce Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs).
As an independent contributor in this role, your client relationship skills will be essential to building trust and operating in accordance while adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining professional integrity. You Have:
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis or accounting, and performing analytical and budgetary duties with DoD PPBE
- 2+ years of experience with program development, and assisting with budget formulation, preparation, justification, and execution
- 1+ years of experience with DoD financial management, Oracle-based, and accounting or oversight systems such as DAI, SAP ERP, or Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)
- Experience with regulated procedures for reimbursable agreements, contracts, and funding documents, and financial processes utilized by the government, private, and corporate sectors
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and creating complex spreadsheets
- Ability to learn and use new government financial and programming systems and applications
- Ability to interpret the intent of a client’s needs effectively and help to shape and form the solutions
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines and continual client delivery
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or Business
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with DAR-Q, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), auditing, SOA, or the Managers Internal Control Program (MICP)
- Experience with federal programs
- Experience with Microsoft database tools
- Possession of excellent client relationship skills
- Possession of excellent detail-oriented skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
