Job Description
Key Role:
Spearhead security efforts. Maintain responsibility for working with the team to assist in developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect projects and infrastructure, while also guiding and developing a team dedicated to security best practices, risk assessments, and mitigation for the sector. Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps life cycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure while optimizing for scalability, efficiency, and compliance, ensuring that all systems and procedures adhere to industry best practices and governmental regulations for security. Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts and standards. Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for the protection of sensitive data and systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations in the early stages of project development, conduct security assessments and audits, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of security controls. Serve as a subject matter expert on security and advising on the latest threats, trends, and technologies while mentoring and developing a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with the information systems security industry and delivering to a large enterprise within the defense industrial base (DIB)
3+ years of experience in a security engineering or architect role
Experience working with deployable security tools and suites, including Nessus, Splunk, Prisma, ServiceNow ITOM. Carbon Black, or CSPM
Knowledge of Azure platform fundamentals and best practices for security control implementation, including PowerShell and XML scripting
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, 171, and 172 control families and platform-specific capabilities to meet control requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience delivering security services for the U.S. Department of Defense as either an industry employee or as a government employee or uniformed service member
Experience with government compliance, certification, and accreditation processes, including frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and deploying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) pursuant to achieving a DoD Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Experience leading security initiatives and teams in complex project environments
Ability to apply secure system development lifecycle and cyber resiliency concepts found in NIST SP 800-160 Volumes 1 and 2
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Secret clearance
DoD 8140 CWQP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
