The Opportunity:

As a Science & Technology (S&T) Data Analyst, you combine expertise in advanced data science techniques with a deep knowledge of bibliometrics to unlock the secrets held by large data sets. You know how to apply mathematical and statistical methods to analyze books, articles, and other publications to measure the impact and influence of research outputs, identify emerging trends, and provide insights into the scientific landscape.

Your data skills and bibliometrics experience, coupled with an original approach to solving complex problems, will guide clients and stakeholders as they make sense of their data and encourage actionable results. We’re looking for someone like you to lead multifaceted S&T data exploration and analytics projects for the U.S. Navy.

As a senior S&T Data Analyst on our Global Defense team, you’ll introduce innovative AI, data science, and bibliometrics methodologies to make a real-world impact. You’ll leverage advanced techniques such as horizon scanning to identify emerging technology areas, and deliver insightful technology scouting, forecasting, and trend analysis. Your expertise will drive our mission to push the boundaries of scientific research and technology development for key clients within our Navy and Marine Corps accounts.

You Have:  

  • 8+ years of experience in bibliometric analysis, patent analysis, science of science, S&T indicators, and S&T forecasting

  • Experience developing advanced data analytic and AI products to support senior leadership strategic portfolio decision making in an S&T environment

  • Experience with statistical methodologies, data analysis techniques, data management, dashboards, modeling, querying, and workflows

  • Experience utilizing data-driven methodologies to perform S&T assessments

  • Experience performing impact analysis of S&T on military capabilities for a DoD organization

  • Experience with programming languages, including Python, C++, or SQL

  • Secret clearance  

  • Master’s degree in an Engineering, Science, or Mathematics field

  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification

  • CompTIA Linux+, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Exam DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure, AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate (DEA-C01), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) Certification

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience developing Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions

  • Experience applying established analytical methods in scientometrics

  • Experience leading Agile development teams

  • Doctorate degree in an Engineering, Science, or Mathematics field

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
