Backend Software Engineer

On our team, you’ll help create and implement complete end-to-end solutions that modernize client systems. You’ll ensure that your team’s solutions consider the broader ecosystem and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements.

You Have:  

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, turning requirements into implementation and evaluating architecture tradeoffs

  • 2+ years of experience with programming in Python or Java

  • 2+ years of experience with Linux terminal commands

  • 1+ years of experience containerizing applications with Docker

  • 1+ years of experience with building or maintaining RESTful APIs

  • Ability to solve complex technical challenges and independently learn technical concepts

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures, including Kafka or Amazon SNS

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, or related tools

  • Experience deploying and maintaining a containerized app on a Kubernetes cluster

  • Experience with cloud environments AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Experience with AI tooling

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
