Wargame Campaign Planner

Key Role:

Support the Air Staff with development and execution of Air Force wargames and tabletop exercises (TTXs) at the strategic and operational level. Apply experience in contingency and campaign planning to wargame and TTX planning. Work on the wargaming team to build and execute wargames and TTXs for a range of internal and external participants, from senior military leaders to action officers, including multinational partners. Consult on the application, understanding, and experience with warfighting disciplines, COA analysis, strategy development, and organizational processes and procedures to craft wargames that allow participants to inform plans, examine assumptions, and build stakeholder relationships. Support planning through advice on potential threat actors and their impact on military operations and government and commercial activities. Work across Air Force and other governmental stakeholders to ensure participant engagement, senior leader guidance, and clear objectives. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with the DoD, including military service

  • 3+ years of experience as a Joint Operation Planner

  • Experience working in a military staff environment

  • Experience interacting with DoD senior leaders, including through written products and verbal presentations

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Completion of JPME Phase 1

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the Air Force service

  • 5+ years of experience at a Combatant Command headquarters

  • Experience building scenarios for wargames and TTXs

  • Experience as a Combatant Command J5 or J3 Contingency or Campaign Planner

  • Experience in a leadership role, including OPT Lead or Battle Rhythm Event Lead, in Major Staff Exercises

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Graduate of an Advanced Warfare Planning School

  • Graduate of SAMS, SAW, JAWS, MAWS, or SAAS

  • Advanced Warfare Planning School Military Professor or Professor Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
