Network Engineer

Key Role:

Determine and support networking service requirements for switched networks, implement network systems and subsystems and associate hardware and software. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, mentor and supervise team members. Work with SMEs, customers, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. Plan the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. Resolve interoperability issues across platforms to supporting hardware acquisition. Design and implement local area networks (LANs) or Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer

  • 5+ years of experience in Telecom Engineering

  • Experience with Voice over Internet Protocol

  • Experience with Routing Protocols and Multicast

  • Experience with Network Protocol Analysis

  • Experience with VMware

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial communications equipment

  • Experience in engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of Radio-frequency engineering, Tactical Communication Systems, or Program Management

  • Knowledge of Radio Bridging and Cross Banding

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
