Solaris System Administrator, Senior

We’re looking for a systems administrator who specializes in Information Assurance to help us stand up a new integration environment using Oracle T5-2 Servers running Solaris 11.

As a Solaris system administrator on our project, you’ll monitor, maintain, and sustain the hardware and software for your client, including Solaris 10 operating systems, Oracle servers, message servers, and key processors, and assist software developers with build and install process of Maintenance Release 6 software patch. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset as the representative for daily system status updates. You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in system administration of UNIX and Solaris 10 or 11

  • Experience with bash scripting and CRONs for automating server tasks

  • Experience with disk suite, ZFS file systems, flash archive (FLAR), NFS file system, or managing disks and LUNs

  • Experience with managing CDOMs, LDOMs, or Zones

  • Knowledge of Solaris and SUN/Oracle SPARC platforms, including M-series, T-series, and S-series servers

  • Ability to monitor the system configuration, perform analysis and tuning, and monitor the server event log

  • Ability to test the operating system software, the networking software, and the computer hardware

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Information Assurance (IA) Certified IAW AR 25-2 and DoD 8570.01 Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Ability to monitor and develop the procedures for backups of the servers

  • Ability to manage the servers and user accounts, installing and upgrading the servers

  • Ability to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
