Open Source Intelligence Analyst

Key Role:

Work under limited supervision and support the analysis of open source intelligence. Consult on how to leverage OSINT data and information, use specialized OSINT tools and services, and consult on the development of OSINT products. Support the development of new OSINT targeting and exploitation techniques and apply knowledge of developing OSINT policy and tradecraft.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with international relations, international security, or national policy research and writing

-2+ years of experience with conducting open source research, academic research, all-source intelligence, or targeting

-Knowledge of Internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and Internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, data exploitation, and commercial- and industry-based databases

-Knowledge of US national security interests and policies in the MENA or Africa

-Knowledge of MENA or African history, culture, and current events

-Ability to read or comprehend a MENA or African language at a high level of proficiency

-Ability to write high-quality analytic products that adhere to intelligence community tradecraft standards, sometimes on short deadlines

-Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and other common productivity software

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with researching in a foreign language using internationally-focused Web sites

-Experience with advanced search techniques, information databases, data visualization, and related tools, including Tableau or Adobe Suite

-Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, or Linguistics preferred; MA or MS degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, Linguistics, Business, Library Science, or a related research field a plus
