Quantitative Social Scientist

Key Role:

Analyze data to help the Department of Defense (DoD) clients answer questions on the status of health and readiness issues within the organization. Analyze administrative data with the goal of helping the client identify insights and potential actions. Apply quantitative solutions to solve complex problems, either in an academic or professional environment and convey complex topics effectively in simple and concise terms. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with wrangling, cleaning, and transforming big data of  >10 MB
  • Experience with synthesizing and critiquing public health and social and behavioral science research
  • Experience with paying attention to detail in quality control of data or other client-facing products
  • Knowledge of R, including Tidyverse packages, such as dplyr, tidyr, or ggplot2
  • Ability to interpret analysis results in visual and written summaries for non-technical audiences
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with military data or in a military environment
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, including environmental scans, survey design, focus group design, descriptive, and inferential statistics
  • Experience with creating verbal and written communication products for clients, including presentations and whitepapers
  • Knowledge of prevention and response literature as it relates to sexual assault, sexual harassment, and related behaviors
  • Ability to apply data or research findings to policy initiatives
  • Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Or Behavioral Science or Public Health with a focus in quantitative analysis preferred; Master's degree a plus
