Key Role:

Drive innovation into large scale analytic platforms though research and development, prototyping, and implementation. Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse analytics on Big-Data Cloud systems taking these from prototype to production. Engage with all stages of data processing, analysis, and indexing and prototyping of user-facing analytic applications. Work individually or as part of a team. Leverage software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment. Address the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, use of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), Government off-the-shelf (GOTS), and Free and Open Source (FOSS) software as an alternative to new deployment. Analyze and synthesize requirements for individual software components to the complex systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with professional software development
• Experience with Java software development and common tools, including Maven or JUnit
• Experience with a scripting language, including Python, Bash, or Perl
• Experience with Linux/Unix Software Development and Deployment on Centos or RedHat
• Experience with common software development tools, including Git or JIRA
• Experience with the software development process
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Software Development in multiple languages, such as Javascript, C/C++, Python, or Go
• Experience with concepts in Information Retrieval, Machine Learning and Image Processing and working with languages other than English
• Experience with Java frameworks, including Spring or Spring Boot or application servers, such as JBoss or Wildfly
• Experience with software development and deployment on big data platforms including Apache Hadoop, MapReduce, Apache Spark, and Apache Accumulo
• Knowledge of one or more Web application frameworks, such as Angular, React, or ExtJS
• Ability to manage and support software deployed to operational, production environments
• Ability to identify the issues that affect application speed, scale and reliability of analytics and applications, such as the impact of architectural decisions, hardware selection, and application complexity
