Strategic Business Development Lead

Key Role:

Work as a Business Development executive to identify, qualify, and prosecute growth opportunities within the federal intel marketplace, focusing on customers representing critical cyber missions. Focus on expanding the out-year pipeline, including opportunities 18+ months out through active deal development, identification, and qualification efforts to create growth potential for the firm in new capability or client sets. Successfully compete in both incumbent and non-incumbent workstreams with the ability to think critically and strategically strengthen the competitive posture of the firm. Build and maintain strong industry relationships in relation to competitors, niche capability firms, small businesses, and select client relationships to gather information and enhance the firm’s position across a portfolio of efforts. Lead and facilitate the development, delivery, and presentation of white papers, and drive technical and acquisition client call plans and other outreach efforts to qualify and inform pursue and no pursuit decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in a senior business development role with managing annual revenue to sales targets at a major federal government contractor focused on technology or mission services and solutions sales
  • Experience in leveraging client relationships, market knowledge, and government acquisition best practices to position the firm for long-term initiatives that improve overall financial performance
  • Experience in working part of an integrated account and opportunity capture team within a matrixed organization where collaboration and a team-centric culture are paramount for success
  • Experience with business development through the entire business development lifecycle from contact through contract award
  • Experience with relationships and a demonstrated record of success in leveraging those relationships for opportunity wins
  • Knowledge of how contracts move through the US Government's acquisition process
  • Ability to maintain client relationships across the IC cyber-related customer set
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BA or BS degree 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with coordinating, collaborating, and leading without oversight
  • Ability to engage with c-suite level executives
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team
  • Possession of excellent communication skills that can be demonstrated in both public speaking and written formats
  • Possession of excellent project management and analytical skills
  • MBA in a technical field preferred
