Atomic Physics Consultant

Key Role:

Support innovative government-run research and technology development, applying a deep-knowledge of atomic physics and devices as a technical consultant. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts that develop novel atomic and quantum physics-based technologies and technical applications, with particular emphasis in the areas of sensors, metrology, and computation. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with atomic physics, including post graduate research

-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Knowledge of quantum sensing and metrology devices

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree in Physics, CS, Technology, or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as part of a team that developed theories or technologies for atomic or quantum sensors and related applications

-Experience with defense research and development

-Knowledge of quantum theory and related technologies

-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
