Biological Sensors Consultant

Key Role:

Support innovative government-run research and technology development utilizing a deep-knowledge of environmental and physiological biosensing of biological threats as a technical consultant. Provide strategic assessments of new and current technologies in support of senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts developing novel detectors and detection schemes for sensing aerosolized biological and chemical threats and detecting and monitoring physiological immune responses at early stages of infection. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients.

Basic Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience with biological sensing or biological sensor development

- 2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

- Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

- Ability to obtain a security clearance

- PhD degree in Biology, Biophysics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry

Additional Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience as part of a team that developed technologies for environmental sensing of biological or chemical threats

- 2+ years of experience as part of a team that developed technologies for physiological sensing of immune responses

- Experience with defense research and development

- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Possession of excellent organizational and client service skills
