Key Role:
Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to assist with the technical program management of research and development (R&D) efforts. Draw on deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to advise clients in multiple areas, such as Biomedical Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Immunology, Developmental Biology, Gene editing, Infectious Disease, Epigenetics and Molecular Biology, with a particular emphasis in modifying innate and adaptive immune cells or other cell types for clinical or animal studies. Serve as a scientific or technical expert in biomedical engineering with experience in trauma care and machine learning research. Provide strategic assessments of novel scientific discoveries and emerging technologies for a larger client portfolio. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience with research in Biomedical Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Infectious Disease, Machine Learning, Biology, Developmental Biology, Epigenetics, Immunology, or Molecular Biology including time as a graduate student
4+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to display multiple first-author contributions to peer-reviewed papers or patents
Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience
Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
Ability to obtain a security clearance
PhD degree
Additional Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with postdoctoral academic or industrial research
Experience with engineering or modifying either innate immune cells, adaptive immune cells, or other cell types in clinical animal studies, especially in the context of pre-exposure, or post-exposure interventions, including infectious disease
Experience with science and technology policy
Possession of excellent scientific writing skills
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
PhD degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or Computer Science
Active Secret clearance
