Biotechnology Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Leverage advanced scientific expertise and advanced academic research skills to drive large-scale biological or biochemical research agendas. Maintain modernization tech roadmaps related to biotechnology, including all DoD activities and applicable program elements. Coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders, including DoD leaders, the Services, Agencies, and other key partners. Refine and update Science and Technology roadmaps based on feedback from stakeholders and changes to technology development investments. Assist with and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership, outside agencies, Congress, industry, academia, professional societies, and other stakeholders. Track department-wide budgets for efforts aligning with the program director. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts and prepare and conduct meetings related to biotechnology or biochemistry.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of experience with scientific research in an academic or professional environment

  • 7+ years of experience with biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, psychology, or cognitive science

  • Secret clearance

  • MA or MS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in relevant fields of study

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • PhD degree
