Chemical Preparedness Consultant

Key Role:

Perform research and data analysis related to chemical threat subject matter. Design relevant, accurate, and realistic training and exercise materials and contribute to discussions ensuring stakeholder buy-in on exercise objectives, scenarios, Master Scenario Events Lists (MSEL) items, and event logistics. Create materials, including presentations, participant manuals, MSEL lists, evaluation guides, and control plans. Draft client Disaster Preparedness Plan Reviews and conduct post-event analysis to develop After-Action Reports. Provide input and assist with the preparation and development of planning conference materials, including participant read-ahead materials. Develop draft exercise documents, including participant manuals, evaluation guides, and control plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with writing, researching, and providing data and input to task materials
  • Experience with summarizing information in a clear, organized format with an emphasis on quality, format, and attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience facilitating conversations with senior-level clients
  • Top Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree in Chemistry

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program, Emergency Response procedures, or Department of Homeland Security or All-Hazards Response Planning
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • MA or MS degree preferred
