Chemical Sensors Research Consultant, Mid

Key Role:

Support innovative government research and technology development programs in highly-sensitive chemical sensors by working as a technical consultant. Work with a diverse group of world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investment through the development of new technologies for defense applications. Leverage technical expertise to support senior DoD decision makers with strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps in need of investment. Offer recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs by preparing in-depth analyses, conducting background research and interfacing with the research community. Work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research, including communicating technical findings to a wide audience.


Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience in developing chemical sensors, including mass and ion mobility spectrometers, gas chromatographs, and standoff spectroscopic systems

-2+ years of experience in authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with a focus in chemical sensor design


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD research and development projects

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-Active Secret clearance preferred
