Chemistry Consultant

Key Role:

Support innovative government-run research and technology development leveraging expertise in chemistry and materials testing and analysis as a technical consultant. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts developing novel on-demand production of microbial-origin food. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with research in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or materials engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Doctorate degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with analytical lab-based testing of chemicals and chemical processes
  • Experience as part of a team that developed testing and evaluation procedures for lab-based testing
  • Experience with defense research and development
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
  • Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering preferred
