Communications Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Serve as a Strategic Communications Specialist developing messaging strategies and communications products for senior clients to communicate organization priorities and information to internal and external audiences across the Army. Develop, write, and edit communications products and informational materials that are tailored to specific Army and government audiences, including official e-mail messaging, articles, key messages, and talking points. Proactively maintain responsibility for managing a communication plan through collaboration with key stakeholders and mangers.  Identify and prioritize product deliverables in a client-ready format and meet deadlines independently. Regularly collaborate with military clients to clarify technical topics. Leverage social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and depict knowledge in social media trends. This position is client-facing and is located full-time on client site.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with strategic communications
  • Experience with writing and editing material and workforce messages
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including writing in a variety of formats such as articles, email, newsletters, and social media posts
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with the military in Army Human Resource organizations
  • Ability to work with senior government clients, primarily mid - to senior level military officers
  • Ability to research and gather information and synthesize it into presentable deliverables for the client
  • Ability to manage multiple competing tasks, meet simultaneous deadlines, prioritize as necessary, and deliver to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • Possession of excellent organizational skills
  • BA or BS degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a Communications related field preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
