Communications Specialist

Key Role:

Design, develop, produce and consult on a variety of internal and external communications materials and media. Apply specific functional knowledge; working/general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance; review or guide activities of junior employees. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with developing communications materials and plans
  • Knowledge of digital engagement and social media best practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to engage with program and initiative action officers to develop slick sheets, website text and other outreach/marketing materials
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through oral, written or visual means and represent the Firm in daily interactions with clients
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects, manage time effectively, and flexible in responding to conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working on environmental restoration science and/or policy
  • Knowledge of strategic communications best practices
  • Knowledge of public affairs requirements including 508 accessibility requirements
  • Ability to develop talking points and corresponding FAQs for senior leadership engagements
  • Secret clearance
