Energy Engineer

The Challenge:

What if you could use your engineering skills to transform military installations? As an electrical engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to supporting the military in pursuing distributed generation, renewable energy, and microgrid goals. We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer who can use their skills to perform detailed analysis on electric infrastructure and provide solutions in the areas of distributed generation integration, smart grid implementation, microgrid implementation, and utility investment strategy.

Our team implements energy assurance projects on military installations. That’s why we need you, an Electrical Engineer, who specializes in electric utility power systems to help us design and develop energy resilient solutions. You’ll analyze electric distribution systems and utility substations to identify gaps between the baseline infrastructure and the energy requirements of mission owners. You’ll directly impact the DoD mission by ensuring that mission owners have access to energy when they need it. This is a chance to use your electrical engineering skills while gaining experience in solving complex problems and working with new technologies. Travel to CONUS and OCONUS client sites will be required up to 25% of the time.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in the electric power and utilities industry
  • Experience with the analysis or design of electric power generation and distribution systems, including utility substations
  • Experience with conducting energy audits, installation energy planning for military installation, and energy efficiency calculation
  • Experience with power systems, microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER), CHP, and energy storage systems
  • Ability to travel to work sites CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance required
  • BS degree in EE or Mechanical Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with thermal generation, including reciprocating engine, CHP, and small turbines
  • Experience with energy modeling and simulation
  • BS degree in EE with a power systems focus preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
