Environmental Regulatory Specialist, Mid

The Challenge:

In order to grow effectively, organizations need help looking at their operation from the outside. Whether standing up a new organization, transforming an existing one, or transitioning an organization, including merger, split-up, our clients need a consultant who will take the time to learn the complexities of their mission and provide them with tangible advice on improvement, mission success, and standard methodologies. That’s why we need you, a management consultant who can analyze every aspect of your customer’s operations and give them the roadmap to becoming the organization they envision.

As a general management consultant on our team, you’ll build an overall picture of your client’s current structure, day-to-day operations, and outcomes in a manner that they may not have thought of before. You’ll use discussions and workshops with leadership and analysts to identify and innovate the elements that work best in their environment and the areas for improvement. Once you have a solid understanding of where and how the organization can improve, you’ll work on a path forward – and the expected results - to your client. This is your chance to gain experience in the environmental field while learning new consulting skills.

You will support the development of environmental policies, guidance, and planning documents, including researching and analyzing laws, regulations, and policies; drafting polices and guidance documents, and adjudicating comments. The role requires supporting internal DoD and external partner meetings; assisting in developing meeting materials and participating in the meeting to capture key discussion points and follow-on actions. You will collect, compile, analyze, and manage large, complex data sets to evaluate the impact of and track DoD’s environmental programs progress to support policy development, program management, and oversight. You will also research various environmental issues and draw succinct conclusions to include in reports, briefings, presentations, fact sheets, social media and track environmental progress against performance measures, federal and state legislation regulations, and guidance; compile relevant information in client-ready format. You will produce outreach tools to communicate with various audiences on environmental-related topics. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.
