F-35 System Safety Engineer

Key Role:

Review and conduct safety evaluations of change requests, variance requests, deficiency reports, action requests, and test reports/data provided from test activities or fleet units. Review to ensure the evaluations encompass systems designs and operations of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, avionics, flight controls, environmental control systems (ECS), egress, weapon integration, secondary power, propulsion, and software. Ensure evaluations consider the safety characteristics of the system, system integration, software interfaces, specification compliance, and the ability of the overall system to safely operate in all designated modes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in an engineering or technical position
  • 2+ years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or Technician supporting aviation acquisition programs
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possession of excellent organizational and project management skills
