Joint Assessments Analyst

Key Role:

Serve as part of the Booz Allen Team that supports Future Joint Force Development in developing military capabilities for multiple combatant command and coalition clients. Perform work as an analyst conducting joint assessment analysis, campaign plan analysis, and other special strategy and policy projects for senior Joint Staff leaders. Bring in-depth understanding and expertise to one or more aspects of joint missions, processes, and culture. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, mentors and may supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with military operations
  • 5+ years of experience with operating on a Combatant Command, Joint, or Service headquarters staff
  • Experience with conducting studies, analyses, evaluations, military utility assessments, and capabilities-based assessments and use the outcomes to enhance plans and other strategy or policy documents
  • Knowledge of the Joint Staff independent risk assessment and the annual joint assessment analysis
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and interact with senior government leadership and program managers
  • Ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience including senior executives
  • Ability to orally express complex ideas, build collaborative relationships, and bridge gaps among a large number of stakeholders
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Joint Staff independent risk assessment and the annual joint assessment analysis preferred
  • Experience with coordinating military issues, concepts, and doctrine with other US government agencies
  • Experience with the Joint Staff J7 Directorate for Joint Force Development or J5 Strategic Plans and Policy ​preferred
  • Experience with analyzing campaign plans to ensure the commander's direction and command strategy are interpreted into actions aligned with strategic and intermediate military objectives
  • Ability to develop reports and briefings on strategic assessment activities
  • Ability to effectively interpret the intent of a client’s needs and help shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities
  • Ability to respond accurately and quickly to internal and external staff taskings, develop and coordinate detailed staff packages, develop concise reports for briefings, and deliver them to senior DoD leaders
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
  • MA or MS degree
  • Service Command and Staff College preferred

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
