Neuroscience Consultant, Mid

Key Role:
Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to assist with the technical program management of research and development (R&D) efforts. Draw on expertise in the subject matter to advise clients in multiple areas, including neuroscience, neurophysiology, and neuromodulation with a focus on peripheral nerve stimulation on organ and organ systems. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies to support the organization’s goals, create technical reports, present findings, track technical progress, analyze the development of technology program plans, and perform tasks required by clients. Assist with technical program management, program development analysis, and briefing materials for government R&D efforts. Develop expertise in consulting to deliver high-quality work products to support projects. Guide the activities of others on a set of defined tasks, as needed. Work on assignments that offer ever-increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction while developing expertise.

 

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with performing research related to neuroscience, neurophysiology, neuromodulation, and neuro-immune interactions, including time as a graduate student
-5+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences
-Ability to show multiple first-author contributions to peer-reviewed papers or patents
-Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience
-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-PhD degree

 

Additional Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with postdoctoral academic or industrial research
-Experience with transitioning pre-clinical biomedical research to the clinic or toward human applications
-Experience with science and technology policies
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including scientific writing

-Active Secret clearance

-PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Cellular Biology
