Operations Research Analyst

With that level of complexity, you need a skilled business analyst examining how those resources are used and keeping the programs on the path to success. That’s why we need you, a business analyst who can ensure success through careful analysis and effective communication.

We have an opportunity for a business analyst to join our team as we track cost and schedule performance of vital and sensitive government programs in support of various government customers within the DoD. You will analyze budget and financial data and present recommendations to senior clients to aid in their preparation of budget deliverables as part of the annual DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process. You will track commitments, obligations, and expenditures at both a program and a portfolio level. You’ll deliver critical decisional insights by developing complex data visualization dashboards using tools like Tableau, Qlik, and Microsoft Excel. You’ll conduct variance and trend analyses, create status updates, and conduct root cause analysis on issues you find, while making recommendations for improvement to program leadership.

Perform data management of database tables, data elements, reports, and other entities contained in reporting systems.  Analyze project requirements including program scheduling, critical path analyses and project support and resource requirement determination. Participate in impact studies, cost/benefit analyses, dependency models, and employs appropriate project tracking methodologies. We focus on growing as a team to deliver the best support to our customers, so you’ll have resources for mentoring and learning new skills and tools. You Have:

  • 1+ years of experience with financial analysis or data management and reporting activities
  • Experience with communications and business reporting
  • Experience with information systems or programming
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of data and decision analytic tools and techniques
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the DoD preferred
  • Knowledge of Navy, and DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • BS degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Data Science
