Quantum Information Science Consultant

Key Role:

Support innovative government-run fundamental research programs in quantum science and technology by working as a technical consultant. Work with a diverse group of world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investment through the development of new technologies for defense applications. Leverage technical expertise to support senior DoD decision makers with the strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps in need of investment. Provide recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs by preparing in-depth analyses, conducting background research, and interfacing with the research community. Work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research and communicate technical findings to a wide audience. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with researching quantum information science, quantum simulation, or quantum algorithms

-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD research and development projects

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-Active Secret clearance preferred

-PhD degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a quantum science and technology related field preferred
