Research Action Advisor

Key Role:

Provide executive-level Action Officer support to the front office of a research and development organization and its senior management. Advise on and systematically develop high-risk high-reward R&D strategy in the context of national security and dual use. Support the successful design and execution of broadly biological R&D programs. Work closely with a high-performing, fast-paced team to support government clients. Perform tasks in a variety of areas, including liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, coordinating meetings, generating and consolidating briefing materials, and performing administrative tasks, as needed. Design and facilitate institutional partnerships with government, commercial, and academic entities. Coordinate Front Office supporting staff and processes for efficiency, clarity, and resilience. Support special projects for the team.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with science, engineering, mathematics or technology in an academic research or a professional work environment

  • Experience with project or program management

  • Ability to explain and present complex scientific and technical concepts to a broad audience

  • Secret clearance

  • MA or MS degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with providing analysis and support to advanced research and development programs

  • Experience with supporting Program Managers, Office Directors, or Senior Executive Staff  

  • Experience with working in a fast-paced DoD environment

  • Experience with managing project schedules and action items

  • Ability to be organized and proactive

  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and a team orientation

  • Possession of excellent data gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Top Secret clearance

  • PhD in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology
