Surface Chemistry Consultant

Key Role:

Support innovative government-run research and technology development leveraging expertise in surface and interface chemistry as a technical consultant. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts developing next-generation solid-state batteries, anticorrosion materials, and novel molecular chemistry-based net shape manufacturing capabilities. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with research in surface chemistry

-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as part of a team that developed solid-state battery technologies

-2+ years of experience as part of a team that developed directed assembly

-Experience with defense research and development

-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
