Data Governance and Policy, Senior Manager

The Opportunity:
As the data governance specialist, you will serve as a key influencer and champion to introducing, maintaining, and driving adoption of data governance standards across the organization. This is an important role in the Business Systems Portfolio as you will manage all aspects of acumen, effective communication skills, and operational excellence will help drive progress and results on our data governance initiatives.
 

Furthermore, your data governance skills and experience will greatly support our mission to enable the business with the right data.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • As a data governance specialist on our team, you’ll:
  • Advise on and maintain data policies, standards, and guidelines that reflect the firm’s data strategy and risk tolerance
  • Collaborate with the firm’s data privacy and cyber security teams to ensure our data policies comply with data privacy and security
  • requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, or CMMC
  • Manage any data governance working groups or initiatives that form to solve specific business problems
  • Evaluate open-source vocabulary harmonization tools that use Common Data Models (CDM)
  • Define SOPs for establishing Authoritative Data Source (ADS) in the Enterprise Data Catalog to improve data consistency and integrity
  • Provide Technical, Process and Business metadata, security, and privacy requirements to Data Working Group to develop processes
  • for data sharing, exchange review, data element/vocab, and harmonization rules/process
  • Establish guidance around Data Architecture for CDM, Standard, and Vocabulary
  • Develop SOPs and processes for review and implementation of new data assets
  • Analyze current policies for compliance with Health IT and Data regulations (e.g. Zero Trust or CIPSEA)
  • Conduct Risk Analysis for policy compliance
  • Engage Data Governance Board to craft policy-as-code adherence/validation framework
  • Support the education of data governance and data management best practices across the firm
  • Deliver thought leadership for future data governance and management techniques and processes
  • Share your data governance expertise with team members to support client and stakeholder relationships
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop metrics to measure the success of data governance activities

You Have:
· 7+ years of experience in a data governance, data analysis, data quality, business intelligence, or data management domains role
· Experience in advising on developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures
· Experience with data governance principles and supporting technology
· Experience with industry frameworks, including DMBOK, EDM DCAM, or EDM CDMC, CDM
· Experience with data governance software, including Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or Informatica
· Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including Agile or JIRA
· Experience with business intelligence tools, including Tableau or PowerBI
· Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:
· Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity policies and frameworks
· Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts
· Knowledge of data technologies or capabilities in Azure, Databricks, or Immuta
· Knowledge of HL7 Standards and Vocabulary
· Ability to quickly build credibility and trust with internal customers and clients
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Ability to work with cross-discipline teams
· Ability to schedule and complete work tasks independently and work within deadlines
· Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills to explain practices to gain business and IT stakeholder buy-in

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $118,000.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
