Key Role:
Provide enterprise-class database services and operations support, leveraging expert-level knowledge of enterprise database platforms. Collaborate with application architects, product managers, business analysts, and the technical management team to design, develop, and document databases, schemas, tables, functions, triggers, procedures, relationships, and other necessary aspects of the database. Work with the engineering team to determine where the databases will reside in multi-tier distributed and shared applications, comparing hardware and infrastructure alternatives in conjunction with cost, use, growth, and supportability while ensuring production scalability and stability. Provide technical leadership and assume overall accountability for a successful database implementation and ensure solutions are properly architected and specified with the partners and project manager to ensure quality. Define database authorization rules, perform security audit, and perform platform assessment regarding proper support for the selected databases. Monitor the health of the platforms, generate performance reports, and provide continuous improvements. Participate in data modeling and database design.
Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with computer science, enterprise application architecture, or SQL database technology
-Experience with database installation, configuration, app server design, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and upgrade
-Experience with Cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
-Experience with Core Java, Hadoop, including MapReduce, Hive, Pig, HDFS, H-catalog, Zookeeper, and Oozie, MapReduce tuning, data node, and NN recovery
-Experience with the development of complex network architecture with multi-tier topologies, including production and pre-production environments
-Knowledge of DevOps toolkit, including Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
-Knowledge of configuration and support of Windows Native Clustering, SQL Clustering, and SQL Always ON technology
-Ability to configure and set up Hadoop clusters, provide support for aggregation, lookup, and fact table creation criteria, and troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BS degree in CS

-MS degree in CS or a related field
