Laboratory Information Management Systems Analyst

Key Role:
Under general direction, the business analyst will be responsible for identifying and documenting systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (ELIMS). Devise and modify procedures to solve complex problems considering systems capabilities and limitations, operating time and form of required results. Conduct analysis sessions with users and have the ability to create documentation, such as functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, data dictionaries, design specifications and wireframes, and translate into proper system requirement specifications. Document and track requirements from analysis through testing within Team Foundation Server (TFS) while working within an iterative development model and guide and advise junior Business Systems Analysts and initiate work sessions with developers and architects to refine solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with business processes and requirements analyses and applying an enterprise-wide set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design, and construction of information systems on an enterprise-wide basis or across a major sector of the enterprise
  • Experience with laboratory workflows and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Knowledge of Agile project management
  • Knowledge of health informatics
  • Ability to work well with various stakeholders with different backgrounds, work on multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • BA or BS degree
