Next Generation Sequencing Specialist

Key Role:

Work with a federal health client to support and implement regulatory compliance and quality initiatives related to Next Generation and Sanger Sequencing. Maintain responsibility for the promotion of regulatory compliance and quality awareness and continuous improvement by coordinating activities across the stakeholders while providing assistance with implementation and improvement of Next Generation and Sanger Sequencing workflows and systems. Manage stakeholder expectations by establishing open communication with leadership and ensure that stakeholders are kept abreast of key quality and regulatory compliance objectives and goals. Work as an active member of the team by sharing sequencing skillsets, quality assurance and regulatory compliance knowledge and experience to resolve potential compliance issues and provide a positive and cohesive image when interacting with the client and internal customers. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in an accredited laboratory

  • 2+ years of experience with Next Generation Sequencing Technology

  • Experience with Sanger Sequencing Technology

  • Experience with accredited regulatory compliance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biomolecular Engineering, or Bioinformatics

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with lab quality systems, including CLIA, CAP, ISO, GLP or QSR

  • Experience with writing laboratory documents including SOPs

  • Experience with basic laboratory techniques

  • Experience with collecting and analyzing data

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once

  • Ability to be a self-starter and function independently

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Master's degree
