Process Improvement Specialist

Key Role:

Work with federal public health laboratory in Quality Assurance production to address growing demands. Review processes to improve efficiency, automate manual tasks to allow for needed increases in capacity. Provide education and training resources to ensure proper understanding and competency of quality improvements and system applications that have been developed to improve efficiencies and automate manual tasks. Apply expertise in change management, perform process reviews and gap analysis, and define and implement plans to improve processes and increase production capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
  • Experience with takt-time analysis on processes to determine total production, bottlenecks and waiting times
  • Experience with manufacturing scheduling software
  • Ability to make recommendations based on research and schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with instrument and equipment vendors
  • Ability to train staff on new processes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to develop trainings
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial or public health laboratories
  • Experience with Instructional design or equivalent
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Change Management Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
