Electrical Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of electrical systems. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees. This position requires the ability to travel approximately 10-15% of the time, supporting design reviews, system evaluations, and meetings with the program subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with electrical engineering

  • Knowledge of Army configuration management, including the engineering change proposal processes

  • Knowledge of vehicular power systems and solutions

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics

  • Ability to use engineering best practices, review vendor provided technical documentation, ensure electrical risks are identified, and assist in mitigation measures

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a Scientific or Technical field

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with design, development, or production of military equipment

  • Experience with the development and review of Army technical data packages

  • Knowledge of risk reduction identification and mitigation activities for safety and performance issues

  • Ability to identify interface requirements

  • Ability to work with other Army programs to develop power solutions in support of future Command Post requirements

  • Ability to perform all phases of electrical systems development and analyses for vehicular and mounted shelter-based power systems, including APU, transmission and alternator power solutions, and battery storage technologies

  • Ability to review vendor designs for feasibility

  • Ability to analyze requirements and develop power solution concepts to support them, coordinating with vendors and other government agencies

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
