Strategic Communications Consultant

The Opportunity:

As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports U.S. Army clients.

As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to execute critical strategic plans in support of progressing the mission.

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll oversee and author organizational messages and stakeholder reports. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound.

You Have:   

• 5+ years of experience with strategic communications and outreach, including stakeholder analysis and strategies, developing and overseeing content strategies for a wide variety of written products for various audiences, and working with and advising senior leaders on executive messaging and products
• Experience translating technical, industry, or military concepts to a variety of audiences and stakeholders, including senior leaders
• Experience with AP Style
• Experience as a content editor, proofreading for grammar, clarity, and intent of product
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams toward milestones and the execution of deliverables strategy in an environment that has several competing priorities
• Ability to work with and advise senior leaders, respond to and recommend courses of action with changing priorities, and adapt writing style to meet the needs of audiences at various levels
• Ability to be a proactive self-starter and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:   

• 5+ years of experience leading dynamic teams with various communications, and developing, executing, and managing strategies, plans, and schedules to ensure excellence and timely delivery across all products
• Experience with the DoD or U.S. Army community
• Experience with innovation-focused organizations or companies
• Experience with consulting
• Ability to be professional and show enthusiasm for client and teammate collaboration
• Possession of excellent relationship management skills, including interpersonal and team working skills
• Possession of excellent listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
