Bioinformatics Engineer

Key Role:

Design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform them into insights, analysis, and reporting. Apply expertise in database design and implementation tools, including entity-relationship data modelling and SQL, distributed computing architectures, operating systems, storage technologies, memory management, and networking to create structure and value out of complex and ambiguous technical challenges with little guidance. Leverage expertise in structured and unstructured data, streaming and batch data processing, extract, transform, and load (ETL), data wrangling, data ingest, and data access.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience within bioinformatics or advanced health data analytics

-Experience with bioinformatics software development, including stack development

-Experience with publicly-available tools, algorithms, and databases for genome analysis

-Experience with developing enterprise grade software applications

-Experience with building bioinformatics pipelines for health data

-Knowledge of various programming languages, including R, Python, Java/Scala, or SQL

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS or BA degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with working in and developing solutions in Cloud-based compute environments, including AWS and Azure

-Experience in working with the Hadoop ecosystem

-MS degree in Bioinformatics, CS, or Systems Engineering
