Key Role:

Write and edit proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or other opportunities (i.e., RFQs, and RFIs) for potential clients and employers such as Health and Human Services (HHS), Military Health System (MHS), and Veterans Administration (VA). Works with the proposal team to create compelling and compliant copy that speaks to the needs of clients. Understands the consulting industry and can articulate the unique value proposition of Booz Allen, as well as contribute to solutions for a variety of health information technology (IT) problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance and ability to review or guide activities of more junior employees. Participate in strategy and solutioning sessions to generate content for volumes from outline to draft proposal text, conducts interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs), key personnel, subcontractors, and program managers to develop past performance, resumes, management, and technical content. Write original content from source materials as well as rewriting contributed content to be compelling and compliant in response to proposal requirements. Write capture win strategies and Booz Allen benefits that meet customer goals and objectives, maintain contextual integrity of proposal sections by coordinating edits with the respective contributor, and conduct RFP, RFI, PWS, and SOW analysis to understand the customer’s business drivers, problems, and instructions for the proposal response. Work with the Proposal Manager with regards to assignments and deadlines, provide writing advice to SMEs and Volume Leads, and support and contribute to the development of training materials to enhance the efficiency and quality of the writing or editing team and proposal team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with writing and editing in a professional environment

  • Experience in Federal health and proposals, including contracts or grants

  • Experience in working with technical and functional delivery teams

  • Ability to provide a writing sample

  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and balance numerous priorities while meeting tight deadlines

  • Ability to work closely with large and small teams of SMEs, reviewers, and leadership with competing schedules

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Communications, Marketing or Computer Science

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • ​ ITIL, AWS, Agile, Scrum Master, or Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
