Splunk Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

As a Splunk Engineer on our project, you’ll be responsible for the onboarding, design, performance, implementation, and capacity of the Splunk platform. You’ll coordinate work with in-house teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solution, so you’ll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You’ll lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and healthcare needs.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience with Splunk engineering, administration, deployment, and maintenance for a large-scale network environment 
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience interacting with customers regarding configuration and optimization in Splunk 
  • Experience using scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data 
  • Knowledge of FDA CDER domain and workflows
  • Knowledge of enterprise logging, including application, OS, and security technology logging 
  • Knowledge of Splunk ML Toolkit to design and implement ML use cases
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers, apply expertise of enterprise applications, and create, modify, and troubleshoot data queries through various data sources
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience performing systems testing, including auto scaling configurations
  • Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud 
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment 
  • Experience with COTS application support 
  • Experience with data life cycle support 
  • Experience with network security, system security, and supporting security information and event management (SIEM) 
  • Experience with infrastructure management and support and system administration in Windows and UNIX environments 
  • Experience with security tools, including Firewall, IDS, and Active Directory 
  • Splunk Administrator or Architecture Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
