Cyber Threat Analyst

The Challenge:

Are you ready to be the first line of cyber defense for advanced threat systems and managed detection and response? Are you looking for an opportunity to protect critical infrastructure from the constant onslaught of cyber attacks? If you want to be in the middle of the action and build your skills by responding to threats real-time, you want to be a Tier 1 SOC analyst.

As an analyst on our SOC team, you’ll develop network defense skills as you learn to monitor, detect, and analyze threats by interacting directly with affected users and state-of-the-art tools like Demisto, Service Now, Network, and endpoint detection.

When an incident is detected, you’ll work with the team to collect data to help incident response understand and mitigate the threat. You’ll analyze alerts to figure out just how many systems are affected and initiate recovery efforts. You’ll contribute to assessments and learn how to analyze patterns to understand attackers’ goals to stop them from succeeding. You Have:

  • 1+ years of experience in IT
  • Ability to document findings to report or escalate Cyber incidents to clients and management clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work a Panama Schedule day shift from 6 am – 6 pm for a 24x7x365 environment
  • Ability to travel 10% - 50% of the time

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in network-centric analysis (NSM) and deploying and scripting detection solutions with Bro-ID
  • Experience with host-based detection and prevention suites, incluing McAfee EPI, OSSEC, Yara, MIR, CarbonBlack, and Tanium
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, including system or application vulnerabilities and exploitation and operating systems, including Windows, *Nix, and Mac
  • Knowledge of Splunk and other SIEM technologies
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming, including Python, Perl, or C
  • Knowledge of APT, Cyber Crime, and other associated tactics
  • Possession of excellent critical thinking or problem-solving skills
  • Possession of excellent analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • BA or BS degree or 1+ years of experience in a professional work environment
