Aerospace Engineer, SME
Key Role:

Research, design, develop, and test various types of aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, and submersible. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts of engineering that contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Mentor employees in both firm and technical competencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with analyzing aerospace product and interface specifications and performance requirements to determine designs
  • Experience with developing design criteria for aerospace products or systems, including testing methods, production costs, quality standards, and completion dates
  • Experience with evaluating product data and designs from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards
  • Ability to implement mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify designs according to customer engineering requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • BA or BS degree and 16+ years of experience with aerospace engineering activities or MA or MS degree and 14 years of experience with aerospace engineering activities

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering methods and tools
  • Experience with performing risk assessments of aerospace systems and generating risk mitigation plans and strategies
  • Knowledge of DoD space concepts at tactical, operational, or strategic level
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate testing of aerospace systems
