Desktop Publisher, Senior

Key Role:

Apply skills to support proposal managers by producing documents or creating new proposal templates while applying advanced Microsoft Word features. Interpret and apply RFP and firm-standard format specifications and requirements to documents and ensure electronic, printing, and binding specifications are met. Troubleshoot problems with applications, interface with help desk to resolve issues, and implement Microsoft Word or relevant software improvements that make workflow easier and more efficient. Create checklists to foster document consistency among other DTP staff, including on-site or virtual working teams. Work and excel in a team environment with proposal manager and volume leads, authors, proposal coordinator, and proposal production manager to establish and provide feedback for scheduling DTP. Interface professionally and positively and coordinate among proposal team members, including capture and proposal managers, volume leads, writers, editors, graphic artists, desktop publishers, subject matter experts, other internal proposal resource teams, and executive administrative assistants.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience producing proposals delivered to the U.S. government

  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Outlook, and SharePoint

  • Knowledge of practical application in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure

  • Knowledge of proposal delivery methods, including electronic or print

  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, changing schedules, changing priorities, and unpredictable events while maintaining high quality standards

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Associate’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with proposal process training gained through professional associations, including Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), or independent proposal training firms, including Shipley Associates

  • Ability to provide proposal technical editing support

  • Ability to revise illustrations in Adobe Illustrator or MS PowerPoint

  • Ability to provide compliance matrix or review support

  • Ability to request, develop, and administer proposal development sites in the SharePoint and Microsoft Teams environments

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree
