ISSM Network Engineer

The Opportunity: 

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right security equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a seasoned network engineer and ISSM who knows how to develop and protect the exact network our client needs. 

Work as a dynamic, highly motivated, and well-organized individual and leverage expertise in administering US government security procedures to serve as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) within Booz Allen Hamilton. Serve as an ISSM for classified computers in the intelligence community (IC) computing environments. Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies. Provide assessment and authorization of computer networks using government standards and data contamination management, including coordinating clean-up efforts and reporting requirements and ensuring auditing requirements are completed. Work with system administrators to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed and audit files are being maintained and reviewed in accordance with multiple client requirements. Make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, provide focused solutions, and communicate information effectively to various audiences through verbal and written communications. Interact with internal and external clients or government security officials to perform security duties, address routine information security matters with employees regarding issues, and perform report preparation, system security access briefings, and other duties, as required.

As a network engineer (ISSM) on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, assessment and authorization (A&A), Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs), and other network security undertakings to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll lead and implement the A&A process under the RMF, lead and engineer security technology insertion into network, review assessment reports and identify security risks, support the development or modification of System Security Plans (SSPs), assist projects in determining security requirements, provide security review and approve changes to accredited systems, work with CIRT to resolve cyber incidents and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

You Have: 

  • 6+ years of experience as ISSM or ISSO

  • Experience with auditing and security functions

  • Experience with assessment and authorization requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
