R&D Engineer

Key Role:

Perform as an experienced research, development, test, and evaluation engineer to support a dynamic, exciting, and rewarding contract, assisting with technology development. Support a government client in a technical capacity to evaluate products across a variety of engineering fields, including radio frequency collection technologies, electromagnetic phenomenologies, special communication devices, measurement and signatures intelligence (MASINT) sensors, maritime technologies, airborne sensing technologies, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear analysis tools. Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret results of developmental and operational tests for new and modified products or product components. Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel and provide technical support and advice to other engineering groups. Guide and direct junior personnel on the set-up and performance of tests and act as liaison with external stakeholders, including system developers, manufacturers, and government project management teams. Devise and apply testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors, participate in the development, maintenance, and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs, and lead or direct projects. Assist with the review and evaluation of personnel performance, act in liaison capacity with other departments, divisions, and organizations, evaluate progress and results, recommend major changes in procedures, and operate with considerable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the product development life cycle for new and emerging technologies

-Experience with operating in the research and development of new sensors, technologies, and products

-Experience with identifying and deriving measurable system requirements from high-level system specifications

-Knowledge of test and evaluation concepts

-Ability to work with a diverse team of government, military, and contractor team members to create innovative methods of evaluating products in a developmental and operational manner prior to the final acceptance of the product

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or 12+ years of experience with supporting R&D efforts in a technical capacity

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with leading Test and Evaluation (T&E) efforts at the developmental or operational levels

-Experience in working with or supporting DoD T&E organizations

-Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) statistical modeling concepts

-Ability to apply statistical analysis to test data and create meaningful recommendations with mathematical evidence
-MA or MS degree in a STEM field

-DAWIA Level II Certification or equivalent in Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation, Acquisition, or Project Management

-PMP Certification
