Security Systems Engineer

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience developing resilient cybersecurity solutions and researching innovative cyber resilience strategies 

  • 10+ years of experience engineering, implementing, and maintaining a cybersecurity program in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 and the DoD Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Guidebook on a space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, software, or hardware system 

  • Experience with evaluating security vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies, or implementing remediation activities 

  • Experience with the system engineering life cycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment 

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word  

  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals  

  • Secret clearance  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxy, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, or penetration tools, or object-oriented programming languages, including Java or Python 

  • Experience performing systems engineering, program management, and schedule and development activities on space-based remote sensing systems 

  • Experience with zero trust best practices and methodologies 

  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems Instruction, including NIST SP 800-60, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, and CNSSI 1253 

  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02 

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies 

  • TS/SCI clearance 

  • Master’s degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics discipline  

  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP 

  • IAT Level III Network Certification, including CCNP-Security or IAT Level III Security Certification, including CISSP, or CISM 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. 

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $96,000 to $120,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
