Staff Physicist, Senior Manager

Key Role:

Lead a team to develop optical communications solutions, including leveraging advanced physics research and advanced academic research skills and tools to test and analyze physical materials and phenomena. Apply advanced theories, principles, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Lead the development of solutions to highly complex problems. Work with wide latitude on unreviewed decisions and maintain the responsibility for the supervision and development of the entire team. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with supercontinuum lasers, Lidar systems, and pointing, transmitting, and receiving technologies

  • Experience in developing or fielding optical systems, including wavelength manipulation, RF digital frequency technologies, and atmospheric interference of optical systems

  • Experience with lasers and free space propagation

  • Ability to lead a team of technical and program management staff towards a common goal

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Master’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in research with laser communications

  • Experience in research with Lidar

  • Ability to brief senior leaders on advanced technologies while keeping the information understandable for non-technical audiences

  • Ability to display excellent relationships and reputation with clients

  • Ability to engage with the client to identify, shape, and drive research and solutions

  • TS/SCI clearance preferred

  • Doctorate degree in Physics preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required. 

Compensation:

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 175,000 to 200,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
