Radar Scientist

Key Role:

Apply remote sensing principles, over-the-horizon radar system concepts, and an understanding of the earth’s ionosphere to conduct research focused on target tracking. Research methods to combine and fuse track data generated from disparate and noisy sources and that, in the aggregate, can generate relevant intelligence information. Develop research objectives, methodology, run experiments, and document outcomes. Collect and locate existing data and collect new sources as needed to meet goals. Support informational briefings for educating scientists and managers on research outcomes and the impact on the mission. Design collection experiments and compare measured results with ground truth data.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with RADAR
  • Knowledge of Matlab or Python scripting
  • Ability to learn new concepts and apply them to meet research objectives
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BS degree in Physics or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Over the Horizon RADAR
  • Knowledge of atmospheric science, algorithm development, HPC, image science, signal processing, EO/IR systems, and atmospheric science
  • MS degree in Physics or Engineering

Clearance:

Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
